Simply Childhood

I just put my camera (FUJIFILM, finepix S800) on the setting to take a pic of lettering.

I think this is a good shot. This really reminds me of childhood. The composition is well done and I'm glad that everything is in focus. One thing I wish that was done differently would be the shadows. I think the shadows need to be there, but they are just too big for me, try taking this at a different time of the day and see what it looks like. Nicely done.

I'm with Travis. This definitely reminds me of my current niece/nephews who LOVE to draw with sidewalk chalk. So you really captured the childhood feel. I'm personally a big fan of shadows myself so I really liked it.

Nice composition here. Really captures the essence of childhood. Perhaps using the flash to fill in would help lessen your shadows a bit. They are a bit too large and distracting. This is where trying different angles might have been helpful too.

I like the composition and I really like the shadows...but the actual drawing looks a little bit over-exposed.

I'm trying to comment on all the photos without first reading the other comments!

I really like your angle of shadow here! A deeper shadow would have added even more interest! Good subject, very "childhood". I still love drawing with chalk! I like your composition as well. Brighter coloured chalk would give the photo a little more oomph!

I love this one!!! Something my kids love to do (and are doing right now actually). I love the idea - very creative photo!! I don't mind the shadows that much. It reminds me of a late afternoon playing with my friends before being called home for dinner.

Thanks, I didn't even notice the shadows really. It's not something I would of thought about until now. I love the CC!!!!

This is my favorite picture for the week. The reason I like this photo so much is that it does an amazing job or reminding me a childhood. I especially like the big shadows coming off of the chalk. With the big shadows it shows that it is evening and the sun is setting on a day of long play or after coming home from school. I also like the diagonal create by the chalks and the sun and how, I feel, it leads you up to the sun. Great Job! cheers

I think the composition is really good, I like the sun at the top and the chalk at the bottom. The colors don't really "pop" like they could. (you could fix that with an editing software). But I do like the angle at which you shot.
