Well loved horn

You can see the wear on my daughter's old trumpet. It served her well until she got her new one.

Ah the trumpet, I knew we would see one of these. I really like how the trumpet looks like it has seen better days, some of the finish has been rubbed off in some places, I think that is really cool. I also like your choice in background. The black really helps the trumpet stand out, and since it is a nice solid color it doesn't take away from the shot at all. I think that you could have probably brightened up this shot though, it is a little dark for my taste. I also wish that there was more of an angle to the shot, rather than a straight shot from the side. I think an angle would have added some dynamics to this. Well done.

Here I go disagreeing again (sorry Travis) - I love the toned down color this provided. Trumpets are quite bright and could easily be an eye sore (from my perspective). So I enjoyed this shot with the varnish wearing. I will agree with him that I may have liked this more from an angled perspective.

It's funny you both mention seeing this on an angle. I originally shot it on an angle and cropped it to straighten it out LOL. I guess I overthought this one.

I think more than just straighting it, but also shooting at an angle to the trumpet, rather than a 90 degree angle straight at the side, more like a 45 degree angle or something would have helped out.

I really like this shot and I like the tone of the trumpet as is...but there is something funky going on with the background...is it just my monitor?

This is one of my favorites. I know that it breaks the "rule of thirds" rule. But I think in this case it works. Nice job, I really like it.

I love the close up so you can see all the worn bits. The black background is just perfect to show-of the trumpet. Nice job!

This is another one of my favorites for the week. I like that it is straight on...sometimes I get too carried away with trying to create angles when a straight on shot is just as good (in my opinon)

I like the close-up angle of this, but would like it a little better, I think, if it was done at an angle. That would add more dynamics to the shot. I like how you can see how the trumpet has been well-used. That tells a story right there.
