I like this guy, and his expression. He looks like he is having a good time, and those little cars are awesome. I think I'd do a little more with this in PPing though. The colors aren't as vibrant as they could be, brightening up the whole scene as well as adjusting some contrast would really make things stand out, especially the red on that car. I also wouldn't have cropped this shot so tight. The back and front bumpers are chopped off, but not in a way that looks on purpose, but rather it looks accidental. Make sure you're paying attention to the entire frame. Also when there is action in a shot it is good to leave some room for that action to move into. So leaving some room in front of the car helps us to not feel like he is about to drive off the frame. Maybe taking this in landscape position rather than portrait would have helped that. I think you have a good idea for this theme.

I just think this is cute! An old man in a little car - who can resist? It brings a smile to my face! Great idea! Smile

I really like the idea, but it is really hard to focus on the man and his car because the background is too busy. My eye is not sure what to focus on. I think this could be improved by shooting with a larger f-stop. a 3.5 or 2.8 (or however low you can go) would be more effective. I would have also taken some close up shots of the car. the wheel or even the lisence plate. Sometimes less is more. Great idea and perfect for the week of St. Patty's day!

Cute and fun...but a little too snap-shotty...I agree with Janae...open up a little wider to blur the background and you'll have a better portrait.

What a cute shot! The Shriners always scared me at the parade... they would drive their tiny four wheelers just a bit too close to me!

I agree it could use a little brightening up, but it certainly brought a smile to my face!

How can you not like this shot? What's not to like about a little car? Good shot.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I agree that it is too "snapshot-ish" for me and I debated even submitting, but figured I would because it was somewhat unique. All of my options this week were from the parade (with all of them moving straight at me) so I struggled a bit with getting the right DOF for each one! I appreciate everyone's feedback.
