Re: Daddy's Hands
I really like the emotion in this shot. I think it really draws you to the picture. The biggest problem I see with this shot is that it is really underexposed. Everything is just too dark. The white shirt is probably the brightest thing and it is far from being blown out, so you could easily push your histogram to the right more on this and brighten up the whole frame. The biggest problem with everything being too dark is that his hair just blends right into the background. We are also starting to lose the right side of his face. I think using a hair light to get a good rim around him would help us to separate from the background a bit more. I think just bumping up the exposure would make worlds of difference here. You did a good job at capturing a tender moment though.
Re: Daddy's Hands
I would like this shot better if you cropped it closer to the hands/baby. I'm not a fan of T-shirts with writing on them, so I find it distracting. I also think it's underexposed.

Re: Daddy's Hands
I agree this shot is a bit dark. His hair seems to disappear into the black background. But I do love the emotion this shot brings... the tiny helpless baby being held in daddy's strong protective hands. Beautiful!
Re: Daddy's Hands
Great idea for the theme. I would like it better if the baby were tilted up more toward the dad's chest. That would give more of a feeling of closeness between the two. I think it would also help if the shot zoomed in closer to the hands and lightened up a bit. Good shot.
Re: Daddy's Hands
I'll agree with the comments above - needs a bit more light to bring his emotion into play a little more. Baby shots are so precious!
