April 7th, 2008 Weekly Challenge - Single Light Source

The next challenge is Single Light Source. In this challenge you can take a picture of anything that you want; however, the lighting has to come from a single source. There is also another catch, that single source cannot be the sun. The light source could be a flash, a light in a room, a lamp, pretty much whatever you want it to be, but we should be able to tell clearly from your picture that it was from one and only one source of light. So if you take a picture in your front room, with the lights on, and use your flash to get enough light that doesn't count, because you would have two sources of light in that instance. Have some fun with this one, I think we should see a variety of things on this and it should be something that everybody can do pretty easily. Hopefully we'll start seeing some higher submission numbers again. If this is your first challenge please read the challenge rules. hmmmmm...this is harder than you think, since the sun doesn't count....what about the sun coming in the window, but using your flash? I have an idea...but it's the wrong time of year for it.

Using your flash with the sun coming in is two light sources. It is easy to eliminate the sun, just shoot at night. I'm glad you think it is hard, that means its a good challenge.

OOH... this one's gonna be tough! I'll definitely have to think outside the box for this!

OK, I'm going to definitely make an effort to get in on this. I have a few ideas floating around...it's the execution that's a problem LOL. I do enjoy the chance to play with my flash (or other lighting).
