WILD! Flower

Sorry I do not know the name of this flower. With its shiny almost flourescent appearance it reminded me of the Flower Power days. I came apon this at a swampy area of a lake.

I find I am distracted by the yellow in the forground also but the center of the flower having those dead petals really detracts from the focus of the image-of course when thinking of the locale you shot in-not every flower would be pciture perfect

Great shot. I love the uniqueness of this flower. I just wish that yellow wasn't in the background, but other than that it is a job well done.

I like the grouping of 3 in this shot. It brings in the "odd" rule for nature shots. I also like how I can see a different angle on each of the flowers.

Thanks for all your comments. Its funny when I was thinking of submitting this I was worried about the yellow weeds or leaves in the background and the decomposing petals but I thought it kind of added character. Like real nature is beautiful although not always perfect. I really appreciated your feedback and think I can learn from it. ~Jackie
