Holiness to the Lord
Great shot, I thought you were going to do a different building though. Did Kevin do the one you were talking about? I usually like to see a nice dramatic sky, but I think that the simplicity of the sky in this shot is really good too. I like how it softens as it gets lower in the frame, I'm guessing the sun was lower, behind the temple in the left of the frame. I think the sky is actually really cool in this shot. I do wish the temple were a bit brighter though. If the sun is where I think it is, that means you are on the shadow side of the temple. It is really hard to get the sky, which is in full light, and the temple, in shadow, to expose properly at the same time. I also like the angle this shot was taken on, the roof lead us to the steeple which leads us up to Moroni. Nicely done with the composition in this one.

No, Kev didn't do the building I was telling you about. It is really just a run down house on the corner of a busy road. I went there and took some pictures, but didn't think any of them were really fabulous. I will have to post them on the blog or something. I got as close to the temple as I could. It was a Sunday evening and the gates were locked.

Trav - I finally posted those other pictures. Take a look if you like: http://www.hutchpotd.blogspot.com/

I am fascinated by the temples. This picture makes me want to see the rest of it. How big is it?
The sky looks like it could be a morning (even though it is evening), it is so calm and gradient.

Beautiful temple shot. I wish it were a bit brighter, however. Love all the greenery around it. The way it seems to be leaning back a little bothers me a bit, but overall I really like this image.

I think this would be more effective if there was not so much of an angle and the color contrast was a little stronger. That being said I really like the sky. I love how it softly fades from dark to light. I like that you can see Sydney...it would be cool if you could see the rest as well. Nice job

I like the feel of this shot...the sky is calming, just like the Lord. I don't like the tilt and I think you have some really AWESOME shots on your blog! The old buildings and doors, etc...are really great!
Holiness to the Lord
Very nice. I agree I wish it were either tilted more or not at all, it almost seems like the tilt was an accident here. This gives me such a calm feeling though to look at it. Nice.
Holiness to the Lord
Correct me if I'm wrong here Stace, but the temple is built on a tilt, right? Looking at the roof above the word Sydney, that part looks to be pretty straight, it is off by a little, but not much. I could be wrong, but I don't think the tilt is because of how she took the picture, but rather that is how the building was built.

Nice subject here. I would have liked to see the lighting a bit more on the front of the building rather than behind. Takes away from the architecture.
Holiness to the Lord
I love the light that comes from behind the temple! I think this is a great shot. I also like how you have tipped the building a little and created the angle. Great shot!
