I think you have done some great things here. This is a great subject, and you really filled the frame well. A couple of things I would watch for will probably help improve this shot though. First of all, this shot is oof. When focusing we need to find the most important part of the picture, then you let the dof take care of the rest of the stuff as you need it. For animals, including people, with faces, the eyes are pretty much the most important part of the shot. So make sure you are focusing on the eyes. Your shutter speed was plenty fast to get a sharp shot even if she was moving, so it is just a matter of focusing on the right thing. Also I would bring her face up just a bit. I think that would put the eyes more in the upper third and more importantly it wouldn't cut her off at the chin. Usually a chin is a bad place to cut off the shot. So move the camera down just a bit to get the chin in there and it will look more pleasing compositionally. I really do like the direction of the action, and the emotion in this shot though, nice job.

Is that you in the reflection of the eyes? That's kinda cool! I won't bother with the focus ocmments as everyone has touched on it - but I also am torn because out of focus softens the picture and that is one fluffy dog. So in a very crazy artistic way...you managed to make the dog even more fluffy that way!

I appreciate all of the feed back on my picture. I just started taking a photography class and so I am still learning how to set the fstop and the shutter speed. I am going to need pointers and so I will look at what you have said and try harder. It was probably not the best subject to try for this challenge because I didn't realize that she would be so wiggly. I am sure that is not the only reason she is out of focus, but it didn't help. Thanks for the feed back again.

Oh, she is so adorable! Great idea - you really did fill the entire frame with her cute face!

Hey, Dera I was just thinking about this picture. How close were you to Sadie when you took the shot? I noticed your FL was 33mm which means to get this big of a shot of her head I'm guessing you were pretty close to her. If that is the case you were probably too close for your lens to be able to focus at all. Every lens has a distance where if you get any closer it just can't focus anymore. It is kind like people who need reading glasses, once things get too close, their eyes just can't see things anymore. I'm guessing that is the real reason this one is OOF.

Nice shot! I can almost see her about to jump up on me! Just a little fuzzy, but I am sure you know that. Keep it up.
