June 30th, 2008 Weekly Challenge - Panning
For winning the Fathers challenge FarrahJ chose this week's topic. The challenge is panning. She didn't really give me a description, so I don't want to say a shot of somebody panning for gold is out. However, the basic idea behind panning is to use a slower shutter speed and move with your subject so that they are in focus and the background is blurred, giving a sense of motion to the picture. This is a fun technique and it takes some practicing, so I'm excited to see the results we can get with it. If this is the first challenge you have participated in please read the challenge rules. Also if you are having trouble uploading pictures check out this tutorial.
