Using my Fuji Film finePix S800, Settings on Auto and super macro. I editted the photo manually
a little by adjusting the brightness and putting it in black and white.

Great subject!! I love this shot. Nice angles and contrast! Nice clarity too!
What a great camera you have, I used the Fuji S5200 before I got my dSLR and I still use it often because it is so reliable!

Great idea! Nice and sharp...I love your BW conversion. The angle is a little severe for my taste, but otherwise a great shot!

The angle is a bit steep for me too since my focus was drawn more to the pedal/foot than it was to the needle; however, I still think it's a great shot! I would've never thought to have done this shot and that I think is the best part about this - all the neat and good ideas people have.

I like it. It looks like your ISO is high which normally would make a photo look yucky and grainy. But sometimes in black and white it works. I think it works here. I don't know if you did this on purpose but it looks good. Your darks could be a little darker and lights a little lighter. I really like it, nice take on the challenge.

I really think this shot has some great potential. This is a unique idea and it makes me keep looking to see what else is in there. I think the b&w conversion is pretty decent. A little more contrast would be better, but it isn't bad. I also like what you were trying to do. The angle is too much for me. I like that you decided not to shoot it straight on, but it is just too tilted for my taste. I also think that you need to pull out a little wider. The foot of the needle is just barely chopped off on its ends. This makes it look like an accident, it either needs to be more cut off to look like its on purpose, or make sure you get the whole thing in the shot. Overall this is a nice idea, and with a few minor tweaks it could be an even better shot.

I really like the angle on this...that was one of the things I liked best about it the first time I looked at it. I would like to see a little more contrast in the B&W conversion, as well. This is a great take on the theme.

I like the conversion to B&W - cool shot!! I even like the angle - it adds more interest than if it was straight on. Great job with the challenge.

I love the grain and the subject- it looks like something I'd find in Grandma's attic. And any picture that "takes me" somewhere is a photo I like.

I'm not sure about the condensed versus negative space, but it draws me in anyway.

Creative shot.

Angles seem to be a hot topic among photographer, would (myself) have chosen a less steep angle, unique subject matter and exposure
