A shutter speed of 30 seconds and this is what you get...silky smooth. Do you think this could make it on a calendar?

I really like this shot. This is a type of shot I expected to see when I thought of this challenge, so I'm glad somebody did it. You really got the silky smooth affect with that long 30" shutter speed. I like the composition of the shot as well. It is nice to see the foreground rather than just the water, it makes the image stronger. I also like how the larger rock in the stream becomes the focal point, it is nice to have a focal point in a shot. The twigs really help with framing and leading us to that point as well. I wonder if you could have brought the exposure down a little bit though, it almost looks like some of the spots in the water are blown out, but bringing the exposure down may lose details in the shadows, but look at that and maybe you can get some of those spots looking better. Altogether this is one of my favorite shots this week.

I wonder what it would have looked like to have the stream in the front and have some of the branches in the back instead of the front? I think the branches frame the stream/river nicely. I would have also added some vingetting to bring the focus to the middle of the picture. And yes I think this could make it on a calendar.

You did a nice job of getting sharp focus while getting that silky smooth water. Only CC I have is that I probably would crop out the branches on the edge of the right hand side. I do get that you were using the branches to frame the water and rocks, I just wish the 2 branches at the right of the rock in the water that crosses weren't out so much into the water. Would be better if they were a little less conspicuous. They kind of distract me from the intended subject of the water and rocks. Everything else frames the water well.

A FABULOUS photo...the only thing I'm not sure if I like or not are the twigs...but the water is lovely and you did an awesome job!
