Egg in Hand

I like the story this picture tells. A boy and his Easter egg creation. I think the composition is pretty good too. Although it is mostly centered, you filled the frame enough that that doesn't matter. I do wish you would have used a deeper dof though. It would be nice if the background was oof throughout the whole image, but it is sharp at the bottom and loses focus as we go up. I wouldn't care too much but the problem is the hand does the same thing, we have sharp focus at the bottom but as we go up, and by the time we get to the thumb, we are oof. Just use a larger f-stop and I think I would like the dof better. Also I don't really like that shadow underneath the hand. I don't mind it as much underneath the egg, in the palm, but on the desk/table surface it distracts me a little. I like this, it is a unique idea.

I love the dirty little fingers - that's what every kid looks like after dying eggs. Great idea for the challenge!

What a cute shot- I love the slightly dyed fingers and the young child handwriting on the egg! So sweet.

I am guessing his name is Alex and I think that is a very clever idea!

I really like this shot but agree with Travis about the shadow. Maybe try having the hand up off the table. I would also have liked to see the egg being held in both hands.
