My self intro

Hey ya'll!!
I am a wife of 15 years... a mother to a 9 yo girl and boys age 7 and 3. I live in South Carolina and was raised on the beach and still spend quite a bit of time there.
My proffessional background is in surgery and medicine. I am very new to photography. I won a local competition last year with a great photo of my middle son. I figured I should try to learn what all the buttons were for on my camera so ....I signed up for a class in town taught by a fabulous photographer (his work is amazing and he's won many awards, some from National Geographic..WOW.) I quickly realized that I was about the only one in class of about 15 that doesn't do some kind proffesional photo work. I was way out of my league but I just swallowed my pride and went through with the course and learned alot. Mostly I learned I really like photography and I want to learn more about it.
I think the challenges here look interesting and I have already learned by reading critiques of others work. I look forward to uploading a photo and I hope I will learn from you all.

Welcome AMM. How wonderful to be able to take a class from a respected professional. My local Art museum offers a great photography class but unfortunately it is very difficult to register for. It fills so quickly and they take no advance registrations. ~Jackie
