Lunar Eclipse
I guess this is a little late posting here, but I thought I'd bring it up anyway. There is going to be a lunar eclipse tonight, February 20th. Here, mountain standard time, the partial eclipse starts around 6:45 and the full eclipse begins at 8:00 ending at 8:50 and the partial eclipse ending around 10:00. Hopefully things will work out and I can get some shots. Too bad for you Aussies, it won't be visible there this time around.
Re: Lunar Eclipse
Man, it is nice and cloudy tonight. No shots for me, I guess I'll have to wait until 2010 for the next one. I was all ready to get some good shots.
Re: Lunar Eclipse
I had horrible results using my dSLR. Then I had battery problems and tripod problems. Not to mention it's dang cold outside!!
Finally fixed my fixes and took out my trusty ol' Fuji S5200 P&S and got some decent shots. Not great, but decent.
Travis, I know this is probably a big file, so you can take it down. Just thought I'd show you guys.
BTW, I love that FxIF add-on!!!

Re: Lunar Eclipse
Love it, spent about an hour watching from the window, great view on a clear night. Much to cold for me. Debb didn't mention it was -22C up here last night.

Re: Lunar Eclipse
Well, we were completely covered with clouds last night, so I didn't even get a glimpse. I was really excited to try it out again. I tried last August, but I was really new to photography then and looking back at my shots I know I could have done better this time around. I guess there is always next time, in 2010. You can see my shots from last time here.
When you link images in posts I don't really care how big it is, since it is being hosted by you it doesn't affect our limits on this forum, so size doesn't really matter. Thanks for sharing that shot, it looks great.Panache wrote:Travis, I know this is probably a big file, so you can take it down. Just thought I'd show you guys.
Re: Lunar Eclipse
I stood out in the freezing cold on my deck with my camera on my tripod. Got some shots but haven't offloaded them yet. I'll try to get to them today or tomorrow. My first time trying to "shoot the moon" so we'll see what I got. They looked decent on the camera screen. I'll check back in on this thread when I get my pics.
