How would you rate this image?
Purple Haze
Panache
I almost forgot to upload this, so hope I'm not too late!
I used a long exposure while moving my camera purposely! It was difficult getting the proper exposure without blow-outs, but I got some fun results.
ISO 200, ss 1 sec, f 22

Re: Purple Haze
I'm not so sure that I like the affect here. I realize that you did it on purpose, but it just doesn't work for me. I like some of the stuff you have here, especially the purple smoke-like stuff at the top of the frame, it would just be nice to see something in focus. Even with all the blur, getting a place for my eyes to rest would have made this better.
Re: Purple Haze
There is no clear subject, so I have no idea what you were even trying to shoot. Slow shutter speed can be difficult but if done right can enhance a shot, but here I don't even know what the shot is, thus in my mind not very effective.

Re: Purple Haze
While I get the effect you were going for, I'm not sure it really comes across well here. You need to have something look recognizable to give the viewer a frame of reference as to what they are looking at. Generally when moving the camera during a long exposure, it's more effective if you are doing a panning type of motion vs. random movement. Keep trying though.
Re: Purple Haze
I do not know what the image is or represents, I find that very confusing. I do not know what your intention was.

Re: Purple Haze
While I enjoy the colors and the "spiral" effect of the light I have to agree that with no clear focus it is hard to see exactly what the picture is all about.
Re: Purple Haze
I like the color...but there isn't a clear defined subject and it's hard to tell exactly what you were going for.

Re: Purple Haze
Not sure what to think about this... Maybe if it wasn't blurred so much I could get a better grasp of what you were trying to do. I do like the contrast of the colors.
