Relaxing Empty Re: Relaxing

I really like the mood of this picture. I think it has a lot of potential. The first thing I noticed about this shot is it is too dark though. This is something that is pure taste, because if you brighten it up too much you lose the mood. I just lose too much detail, and the best lighting is on the candles, whereas it should be on your feet. Also it looks as though your feet are a little oof. I'm not sure if this was from camera shake, your shutter speed is 125 which should be plenty fast, or from too low of an f-stop. I think it is the f-stop that caused it, this is shot at a f/1.4 which means if you were off even a little on your focus it will be noticed. I think the mood and the composition are very well done in the picture. Nicely done.

This is definitely a relaxing shot! I am having a hard time seeing where the focus fell though- was your shutter speed slow? The photo is overall pretty dark but I think lightening it would take away from the "mood", so dark works here. Nice interpretation of this week's challenge!

It seems like the feet are a bit OOF in this shot. I would like to see them more clearly in focus and perhaps brightened up just a bit. You want to keep the mood of the shot, so it shouldn't be overly bright, but a little more brightness would look good, I think. I do like how this looks so relaxing, though!Smile

I understand what the others have said about the focus but it looks to me like a blur was intentionally added. I love the mood.

I like your picture. I really enjoy that it is slightly darker because it makes you feel like the candles are really what is lighting the mood. Personally the only thing is I think could be better would have been to not tilt it as much. I know a lot of people like the tilting but I think it has to be a certain picture to pull it off. Really like the picture though.

so...now that it's no longer anonymous...I DID add the extra "steam" layer to make it seem more dreamy...and I'm not usually a big fan of the tilt either, but since I was at an odd angle in the tub, I didn't want to drop my camera in the water.

I think adding the layer wasn't a bad idea, but you should have masked out your feet so they would have been more in focus. I'm actually surprised this one was rated as low as it was.

you have a good point about masking out my feet. There were a lot of great entries this week...someone has to be at the bottom. =)
