Snow Walk

Post by travis_cooper on Sun Mar 23, 2008 12:54 pm

Panache

What a perfect day we had for walking on the lake! I had intended on trying to get some hands/feet pics, but didn't think any of them would be worthy for the challenge. This one really jumped out at me!

K100D, ISO 200, ss 1/400, f9 - 180mm

This is such a contrast to some of the darker shots that were submitted this week. It is really hard to get proper exposure in the snow. Usually you have to blow out the snow in order to get the rest of the frame looking good, which is what was done here. I think it isn't too big of a deal though, because snow is white. Also seeing it on the boots and flying through the air above those shadows helps us to know it really is snow, not just some really white background or something. I think I like the hard shadows, it really helps add to the image. I wish that they were positioned closer to the lower left corner though. This would give them a little more room to move through the frame. Over all this is a great shot, and a unique take on the challenge.

A nice shot...I'd like it better without the dog.

Wow, nice bright colors here! I agree with leaving some room for them to move into the frame... but overall I like this!

I like this shot. I like being able to see the dog feet and the human feet.Smile Nice and bright.

I am with Farrah - would've liked it without the dog or perhaps not cropped where it was cropped on the dog, specifically. Still great effects with the snow.
