Salt Palace

This is a shot of the Salt Palace in Salt Lake City. It has been around for a long time and has been used for various purposes through the years. Now it is mostly used as a convention center.

Great shot. I love the bits of clouds in the sky - they seem to be in just the perfect spots. I also love the shadows of the railings. It looks like it could be in an advertisement for the Salt Palace.

Like shutch said, this picture really could be in an ad or tourist pamphlet. The wide angle curved lines accentuate that impression. It is quite perfect in that sense.

My eyes wonder to the stairs, though, because they are very prominent. After a while they become the main feature. For this topic though, it doesn't matter because it is about architecture. I don't have a suggestion on how to change it though. The tower looks like it is in the background. The picture looks inviting because it makes you want to climb the stairs. If you stood on top of something...?

Very crisp shot, which I like. I love the puffy clouds! I even like the touch of the flags in the background. Easily you could've chosen to crop those out but I'm sure it was purposeful to keep them in. The zig zag of the shadow on the stairs is quite cool - yes it does draw your attention there but I think it adds rather than detracts.

Very keeping on theme~the depth of color is striking and the overall curve of the building combined with the fishy lense really make it outstanding! king you are the king of the fisheye Travis!

Love the perspective of this shot. Makes the building look so imposing. So effective with the fisheye, too. I like the brightness and color in this shot. Makes it look like we're actually having Spring here!

I love the deep blue color. The only suggestion would be to leave a tad more room at the top of the shot. I like the steps leading up the door.

Great job! The fisheye is sooo much fun! I can't think of anything that would make this shot better?

Great shot- I love how the fisheye exaggerated the perspective here. Smile

Great color, contrast and sharpness here. Love how the steps lead you to the subject. Much more interesting than just a flat shot of the building. Great composition. Not sure how I feel about the fisheye effect for this. The distortion kind of distracts me from the great compositional qualities of the shot. Not much, but I do notice it.

I love the steps and they way they lead upt to the buliding. I especially love the shadows from the railings going up the stairs. Great picture of the building as well.
