My grandfather raised me as if I were his own. He finally adopted me when I was 29. He is now 93 and going strong.

This is definitely my favorite shot for the week. This was the first thing that popped into my mind when I heard what the challenge was. I wanted somebody old and wrinkly, wrinkles add great texture to a picture. I love how he is off-centered and the negative space to the right, I think it works great in this shot. I wish that it wasn't so white though, in fact I wish the background was more of a gray, so that his shirt would stand out a little more and it wouldn't seem as washed out. All in all, I love this one, I think the b&w conversion looks good too.

The emotion that this shot stirs is fantastic. The textures in his face and his loving smile make his face stand out!

I work in the ICU at my local hospital, and so I have gained a large respect for the elderly of this world. Their stories and history are beautiful. This shot has imagery and emotion. I really love his smile. I agree with the brightness of the right side. I do like the contrast in the rest of the shot though... could you have done a background select and contrasted it seprate?

I absolutely love your photograph. This is exactly what popped into my mind when I first read the challenge. I just love his expression and that it appears you have really captured his personality. Great shot.

Nice job! I might like it more if the crop wasn't so tight.
